My Music Tastes

Rock is my NO.1 favourite genre — I love energetic performances, deep lyrics, and dynamic instrumentals.
While rebellion against authority and societal norms has been a prominent theme throughout the history of rock n roll, particularly during its genesis and peak periods of influence, it's also a powerful medium for exploring a broader range of human experiences, from self-expression to emotional storytelling.

ONE OK ROCK

Japanese rock band with powerful vocals and emotional lyrics.
OOR has been a significant influence on my musical journey, inspiring me with their passion and energy.
Their music resonates deeply with me, especially their ability to blend different genres and convey raw emotions.
OOR has been critisized for their "westernisation" and "selling out," but I believe they have successfully created a unique sound that transcends cultural boundaries.
When "DETOX" came out in 2025 (check the full album out here), apparently OOR is going to make more music similar to their older stuff. Hooray!
Yeah that's right. Get all those screams and grit back!!

Italian rock band known for their raw energy and charismatic style.
Måneskin has been a breath of fresh air in the rock scene, bringing back the glam rock vibes with a modern twist. Their music is infectious, and their performances are electrifying.
Also Victoria De Angelis, the bassist attracts me a lot with her unique style and stage presence.
Agree or not, Vic is hot.

His life story is a lagacy.

Yorushika

Thoughtful and poetic songwriting.
Yorushika's music often explores themes of love, loss, and the passage of time, resonating deeply with listeners.
Their unique sound, blending rock and pop elements, creates an emotional and immersive experience.
They always drop beautiful and qality songs (thanks n-buna and suis) and I LOVE THEIR GUITAR SOLOS.
Plagiarism and That's Why I Gave Up on Music are my favourite albums.
rachie 🎀💌 has amazing English cover for lots of Yorushika songs, please check Thought Crime, I absolutely LOVE the lyrics.

Zutomayo

Mysterious, genre-blending group with catchy beats.
The group has never released a full member list, crediting different people for arrangements and music video production each time.
I love their catchy melodies and the way they blend different genres seamlessly.
Their songs often have a dreamy quality that transports me to another world.
Most importantly, ABSOLUTELY GOATED BASSLINES!! and fantastic animated music videos. Bass solos are always a highlight for me, and Zutomayo never disappoints in that department.
Obenkyou Shitoiteyo has a fantastic bass solo (starts from 1:30) that I can't get enough of!

Vocaloid is a singing voice synthesis software developed by Yamaha.
It allows users to create vocal tracks for songs by inputting lyrics and melodies. Vocaloid uses voicebanks, which are recordings of real human voices, to synthesize the singing.
My favourite Vocaloid characters are Hatsune Miku and Kagamine Rin & Len.

Giga

GigaP (ギガP) is a producer well-known for his energetic songs and skill in tuning VOCALOIDs, especially the two Kagamine voicebanks.
Giga's songs and their PV's embody what I love about some of my favourite vocaloid music. The electronic genre, fast pace, the flashy and colorful PV's.

r-906 (pronounced “arukuremu”) specialises in music based on drum'n'bass (if you like both DnB and Vocaloid..here's some recommendations)and other dance genres.
He mainly uses Hatsune Miku and KAFU as vocalists.
Panopticon (Wiki page for Panopticon Prison) is my first r-906 song I listened to, and I was immediately hooked by the DnB vibe.

稲葉曇｜INABAKUMORI

Inabakumori (稲葉曇) is a VOCALOID producer known for his techno and pop works, and high-energy covers.
He started his career in 2016 and primarily uses Kaai Yuki.
I like the unique sounds he's making and ethereal vocals.

I love soundtracks from games or anime that capture the essence of the story and emotions.
There are too many great anime soundtracks to list...so I will just list some of my favourite artists and albums.

Ensemble Stars! - Eden

Eden is a 4-member Japanese unit of ENSEMBLE STARS! under the agency COSMIC PRODUCTION.
The 4-members are Nagisa Ran, Hiyori Tomoe, Ibara Saegusa, and Jun Sazanami.
Eden is a noble and vigorous unit led by Nagisa Ran. Eden members deliver heart-winning speeches during fan services, accompanied by opulent and dramatic performances.
Eden is one of the top three units in the industry along with Knights and fine (where my favourite character Wataru Hibiki belongs to).

Ensemble Stars! - Valkyrie

Valkyrie is a 2-member group from Ensemble Stars!.
As a prestigious artistic unit led by Shu Itsuki, it's a unit that values artistic expression and creativity above all else.
Another member is Mika Kagehira, he is one of my favourite characters in the game.
Their theme colour is wine red. Valkyrie is known for its Baroque Pop/Rock musical style, sometimes described as neoclassical dark wave or even chamber pop.
Their music incorporates elements of classical music with a pop sensibility, often featuring theatrical and elaborate arrangements.
Valkyrie is also affiliated with COSMIC PRODUCTION (same as Eden).

Persona Music

The Persona series is renowned not just for its captivating narratives and stylish visuals, but for its incredibly diverse and impactful musical scores.
Each installment offers a unique blend of genres, from the hip-hop and electronic undertones of Persona 3 to the upbeat J-Pop and jazz elements of Persona 4 Golden and the smooth acid jazz sound of Persona 5.
This dynamic range ensures that every game’s soundtrack is fresh and engaging, while always hitting the emotional mark perfectly.
